More efficient corn

Growing corn requires a lot of (expensive) fertilizer, and we’re hoping to find ways that fungi can reduce those needs by improving plant access to soil nitrogen from complex organic sources. Check out this article on our collaborative research on corn, led by Dr. Ruben Rellan-Alvarez. Our work is only a small part of this big, exciting project, but we believe that adding fungi to other approaches such as breeding and management will be the fastest way to achieve improved efficiencies.
